Do I have to be especially carefull about clearing up piles of sawdust
after a bunch of chainsawing? I've been blowing it away but when its
when it sticks around for the most part. Maybe 50 feet from my house,
am I asking for trouble here by attracting ants or termites?
Thanks

One thing fresh sawdust will do is slurp up nitrogen as it decays, to the
detriment of living vegetation. Know someone who killed off some shrubs
using it as mulch. Solution is fertilizer.

I lived in an old house that used "shavings" as insulation. The ants
got in a wall and the whole wall was ruined. Saw dust outside won't
attract them unless old and dry. There are a lot of sawmills in the
area and they have no problem with ants. Ants do not care about
fresh wood.
