Are they making rat-shoes to survive? Or just to be eccentric? Maybe
they put on a North Face jacket once the film crew is gone....

Thats too bad. Reality show producers seem to find reality too boring for television, and have to spice it up.
I enjoy "The Repair Shop" a British show, filmed in the soft-spoken style of PBS, in which a group of artisans put way too much effort into fixing old heirlooms such as pocket watches and butter churners. No rat-shoes in this one.
