Attach lattice?

Hi Everyone,

I have a travel trailer at my camp. It's permanent and I wanted to
surround the bottom of it with a wooden lattice skirt like you see on mobile
homes. Anyone have any suggestions on how to attach it to the TT? I see that
there is also a piece called a "lattice cap" which looks like it just gives
the cut edge a nicer trim. Not sure how I would go about attaching this to
the TT though. I guess I could sink the lattice into the ground about an
inch, place a lattice cap on it and then use a hot glue gun to attach the
lattice cap to the TT.

On my wood deck I just used screws. Also, you might consider getting that vinyl
lattice instead of wood. Looks like the same thing from a distance, and it
won't rot the way wood does. Also won't break apart they way wood does. Costs a
bit more, but worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice. I saw the vinyl stuff. It's actually cheaper here.
The wood lattice is $4.97 a 4'X8' sheet and the vinyl is $2.97. Only problem
is that it's white and my TT is that off yellow kinda RV color and I have my
SO poking me in the side to make everything match. =(

I can't nail into the TT because it's an aluminum shell and I dont want
holes everywhere in it. I think I might take my chances with liquid nails.

I'd just sink in the ground a bit and lean it up against the trailer. Put
some nice pots of flowers around it to help hold it up.

Or there's always the old stand-bys....duct tape or baling wire.

All the skirting I've seen for mobile homes attaches with some sort
of clip system, to make it easy to remove a panel when you need to get
under the trailer (for maintenance, storage, etc.).

I'd have doubts about using hot glue in this application. You might
want to consider silicone adhesive or an exterior construction
adhesive if you want to go the adhesive route. Have you considered
sheet metal screws?

I had another thought about this. What about installing hooks to
the underside of the trailer, drilling holes to match in the lattice
panels and hanging them? Maybe stake the bottom of the panel to the
ground ( you can get two cheap stakes [like 6" staples] per coat
hanger).

A little crude, but cheap & easy to remove when you need to.

Yeah I had thought about just gluing the whole thing to the trailer but then
I realized I'd have to get under it at various points. I'm thinking now that
I'm gonna use liquid nails to tack on a stripe of lattice furling and then
use tiny screws to attach the lattice to this furling. That way I'll just
have to unscrew the lattice from the travel trailer if I need to get under
it. If I ever have to remove the lattice from the TT I can just scrape the
furlings off with a putty knife.
